Older & Out – Age Concern Central Lancashire

Older & Out provides a range of services for the older Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGB&T) community. Services include a helpline, 1 to 1 befriending service, regular social group meetings, local events and activities along with a variety of volunteering opportunities.
LGB&T social group ‘Older & Out Preston’ meets every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, 6.30pm – 8.30pm. From 1st June 2016 the venue will now be at Creative Works Preston, 33 Shepherd Street, Preston, PR1 3UE
The social groups take place in bright safe spaces where - as LGB&T people - members can be themselves and socialise free from discrimination. Its members also hold other regular meetings and social activities in and around Lancashire. Although primarily aimed at LGB&T people 50+ the social groups are welcoming to LGB&T people and ‘straight allies’ 30+ and act as alternatives to the ‘Pub & Club’ scene.
Older & Out also provides free older LGB&T awareness training to organisations working with older people in the care sector within Lancashire.
